Item highlight: 8.5-inch self-balancing hoverboard with solid rubber tires, dual 350W motors, three selectable speed modes and built-in Bluetooth speakers. Designed for riders who want larger wheels for dry pavement and carefully chosen firm outdoor surfaces.
Quick answer: The larger 8.5-inch treaded tires can handle surface changes better than a small smooth-wheel hoverboard, but "off-road" does not mean every surface is safe. Start on flat, dry pavement. Experienced riders may use short dry grass or firm, compact gravel cautiously after checking the area for holes, loose stones and other obstacles. Avoid wet grass, mud, sand, ice, snow, deep gravel and traffic areas.
Why Choose an 8.5-Inch Off-Road Hoverboard?
- 8.5-inch solid rubber tires: The treaded, non-pneumatic tires do not require air-pressure maintenance and provide a larger contact area than common 6.5-inch hoverboard wheels.
- Dual 350W motors: One motor drives each wheel, working with the independent gyroscope system to respond to the rider's movement.
- Three selectable speed modes: Riders can begin with a lower mode while learning before using a faster setting in a suitable open area.
- Built-in Bluetooth speakers: Pair a compatible phone to play audio through the board's speakers. Keep the volume low enough to hear people, vehicles and other hazards nearby.
- Solid frame and wheel guards: The aluminum frame with plastic exterior components creates a substantial 14.5 kg / 32 lb platform.
Which Surfaces Are Appropriate?
| Surface | Practical guidance |
|---|---|
| Dry, level pavement | Best place to learn the controls and test each speed mode. |
| Short, dry grass | Use caution. Hidden holes and bumps can stop or tilt the board unexpectedly. |
| Firm, compact gravel | Experienced riders should travel slowly and avoid loose, deep or large stones. |
| Mud, sand, wet grass, snow or ice | Not recommended. These surfaces reduce traction and may expose the electrical system to moisture or debris. |
| Roads and traffic areas | Avoid vehicle traffic and check the rules for the municipality and property where you intend to ride. |
The listed IPX4 rating describes resistance to splashing water; it does not make the hoverboard waterproof. Keep it out of rain, puddles and standing water.

Customer Questions and Answers
Can this hoverboard ride on grass?
The 8.5-inch treaded tires may be used cautiously on short, dry, level grass, but hidden holes, roots and soft ground increase the chance of a sudden stop or loss of balance. Learn on dry pavement first and avoid wet or tall grass.
Can it ride on gravel?
Firm, compact fine gravel is more manageable than deep or loose gravel. Large stones can move under the wheels or stop the board abruptly. Ride slowly, inspect the path first and return to pavement if steering or traction becomes inconsistent.
Can it be used in rain or snow?
No. The listed IPX4 rating is not a waterproof rating. Rain, puddles, wet grass, snow and ice can reduce traction and expose the electrical system to moisture.
Is 15 km/h suitable for a beginner?
15 km/h is the listed maximum speed, not a recommended learning speed. Beginners should use the lowest mode in a clear area and increase speed only after they can start, stop, turn and step off consistently.
Can adults ride it?
The listed maximum rider weight is 90 kg / 196 lb. A rider must also be able to stand securely on the footpads and control the board. Staying below the maximum does not replace the need for protective equipment and suitable riding conditions.
Can I use a different hoverboard charger?
Do not use a generic or "universal" charger. Use only the included charger or a replacement specifically approved for the exact board and battery system.
